ADC assessment, exam booking and dental registration are separate steps. This guide is for overseas-qualified dentists using the ADC assessment pathway; first check which registration pathway applies to your qualification.

Your application sequence
- Confirm the pathway. Check the Dental Board’s guidance for overseas-qualified practitioners.
- Prepare initial assessment. Match the current ADC requirements to your qualification and application purpose. Use our document planning checklist.
- Track your outcome. Keep the validity dates and resolve any requests for information.
- Apply for the written exam. Submit through ADC Connect during the published application window.
- Book the venue. Follow the Pearson VUE Authorisation to Test instructions. The ADC application and the venue booking are separate actions.
- Continue after the written result. Check current practical-examination eligibility and booking arrangements.
- Apply for registration when eligible. The Dental Board and Ahpra assess registration requirements separately.
Before booking travel
- Check the exact venue, dates and confirmation for both examination days.
- Ensure identity details match your booking.
- Read cancellation, withdrawal and rescheduling conditions before paying for travel.
- Keep a contingency budget; a course or booking does not guarantee an examination outcome.
